Reasonable Suspicion Training

Ensuring that drivers are safe and unimpaired is critical to the success of every carrier and essential for DOT compliance. Our Reasonable Suspicion Training is specifically designed to meet the DOT’s requirements outlined in 49 CFR 382.603. This program provides supervisors with the skills and knowledge to confidently identify and address signs of alcohol and drug misuse among drivers, helping to keep roads safe and fleets compliant.

Understand the Legal Requirements

The Reasonable Suspicion Training fully satisfies the DOT requirement of one hour of alcohol misuse training and one hour of controlled substance use training. It equips supervisors with the knowledge to handle potential impairment cases in accordance with the law.

Recognize Signs of Impairment

This curriculum covers critical indicators of alcohol and drug misuse, helping supervisors detect impairment through behavior, appearance, speech, and other factors. This skill set is vital in maintaining a safe workplace.

Documentation and Next Steps

Supervisors will learn the correct procedures for documenting impairment cases, notifying relevant parties, and understanding the necessary follow-up actions. By documenting and taking appropriate steps, supervisors protect the company’s legal standing and contribute to a safer working environment.
